You can also use the magnifying glass tool at the top of the ColorChooser window to grab a color from an image that's already displayed somewhere on the screen. Click on the tool with your left mouse button:
The pointer changes to a magnifying glass. The area holding the tool shows a magnified view of what's under the pointer. Drag the pointer until the white square at the center of the area shows the color you want, and then click with your right mouse button. Alternatively, drag a bounding box with your left mouse button; the color is set to the average RGB value of the pixels in the box.
